“Michael Jackson” ghost haunts Muhammad Ali?
“Ghost? Michael Jackson?
Hi, I’m a boxing enthusiast. I was browsing youtube and found a video of the famous fight between George Foreman and Muhammad Ali, “Rumble in the jungle”. Well, at a point in the video (5:45~46 to be exact) a bizarre figure appeared in the background. I was curious, it’s certainly some problem that appeared due to the dozens of edits the image must have passed through… the eyes are even shining… or is it indeed some sort of hoax? Does anyone have an explanation?”
Asked Luis Fernando. The face is indeed bizarre, and I found it interesting enough to post here. And I honestly and unfortunately don’t have a clear explanation for the image. It could be a hoax, a bizarre face added digitally and recently to the scene, as what we assume would be the black hair around the face is actually transparent.
On the other hand, the are some things that interact with the image – passing both in front and behind the “face” – which suggest that it was not such a bad editing job. And also suggest that perhaps it’s not a hoax, but pareidolia. Even if I have no idea of what could have looked like a face with glowing eyes. Certainly the height of that face is not right, it’s at the height of everyone else’s waists. Perhaps a bag? I don’t know.
I compiled an animated GIF with the relevant section after the jump, but have no further comments. Do you have an idea of what could this be? Or is this uninteresting? Do share your thoughts.

Couldn’t it be a tshirt or something?
I’m somewhat inclined to think that this is actually someone’s regular human face, and it just got caught by camera flash and reflected the light back into the video (movie?) camera. Add to that the digital artifacts introduced by the YouTube conversion, the bits of dangling cords and microphone wires, and it creates the surreal quality.
That is, I think it’s a face that’s been distorted. But that’s just a guess.
yes…….. we can see it clearly that a person in that group when turns his head it appears….. and also at the same time some fellow was carring a mic or something and the wire or thread like thing appears to be hair…. i think its definitely some technical problem like image delay i guess
Seems to me after the mike boom passes over the face you can catch the glasses the guy is wearing reflecting the light.
At one point you can see the light from a camera reflect in either the man’s eyes or glasses.
my take on it: watch the fellow who appears to be moving up and backwards in the moments leading up to the appearance of the “ghostly head” (this is just to the left of the “ghostly head”). his direction and speed of movement coincides with that of the head – i believe he is helping someone up off of the floor. the head is around waist/chest level, suggesting that he’s just getting up on his knees. he appears to be wearing glasses – look at the reflections of the lights on bald heads for an idea of how a reflective surface will be highlighted, and observe the line across the bridge of the nose. it’s not uncommon that someone would get knocked down in all of this commotion. the strangest elements of this mystery (the strange position and movement of the head) are most simply explained by this theory…
“T-shirt” was the explanation that came to my mind as well.
The face shows no animation during its breif appearance,
and would be about the right height if it were on some one’s
back…
Michael Jackson face appears in Muhammed Ali video: hoax or pareidolia?…
Forgetomori posted this video of the George Foreman and Muhammad Ali fight from 1974. He notes that during one second of the video (between 5:45 and 5:46) something that looks like the head of Michael Jackson, circa 2000, appears. It could be a hoax, …
Faaaaake. Look at how the chin disappears into the green pom-pom or bag thing that guy picks up in the last couple of frames. The face would actually have to be between the guy’s right arm and left arm.
No way. It’s totally Michael. His extensive plastic surgery has clearly given him incredible time travel powers. The evidence speaks for itself.
Unfortunately, I can’t figure out his motive here. One would assume that he’d travel back in time to fondle little boys rather than catch a historic boxing match.
I think it’s a t-shirt as well– I don’t know much about wrestling, but I seem to remember seeing a pro-wrestling t-shirt that had a similar face on the back. Maybe this jogs someone’s memory?
” I always feel like….. somebodies watchin meeeeeee”
I agree with Craig, you can even see it ripple a little bit, like it would if it were printed on fabric. T-shirt.
Ever heard of “crowd demons”? There’s a whole subgenre of silly “Spooky pics” where people look at low-res shots of crowds and pick out the “demons” created by the pixelation and general poor quality. The “face” looks scary, but it’s just the sort of thing you see when you’re looking at poor quality images, and especially at low-res, poorly-compressed video.
Simple explanation. It’s someone who is behind the glass where the camera is filming from. Since it’s so out of focus, it appears blurry and since it is in a very dark room it is very overexposed.

Guy with glasses, “hair” effect created by mike boom and cable. When the boom moves out of the way in frame #8 (of 10), we can see his typical 60’s hairstyle and also catch a glimpse of the rim of the glasses.
Two things contribute to the spooky effect: The compression artifacts that create the grim mouth in the first 5 frames (by frame 6, it’s back to normal) and the disembodied, floating appearance, an illusion caused by the fact that what looks like the floor below the face is in fact a guy in a gren shirt who ducks under the ropes when he leaves the ring in front of “MJ”.
It’s a Cure T-shirt. That’s Robert Smith, not Jacko.

even before his head appears we can see his green back in the inferior left corner of the screen.
It looks as if he was bending over and jumping out and turning to us. We clearly can see the collar of his jacket and a hand with gloves making a movement. It’s so fake!

I am a Christian who use to study metaphysics. The spirit world is very real and can be dangerous. Just as good and bad live, so it is in death. We can get away from bad people (most of the time), but how do you get away from a bad spirit? Which is why opening yourself up to spiritism is dangerous. The Bible says to not call upon the dead. It wouldn’t say it, if it was not possible. Some people who have a strong sense about themselves leave an impression on people. Like a good movie or song that stays with you. People dead or alive can do this too. As odd as this may sound, I have been sensing MJ around me since he died. I think he might have been out of body traveling before he died (drugs can open the door too). I feel flattered, but know he has very few people who are in a place to sense the dead (he had nowhere else to go. I had a near death experience 30 years ago and it opened a door that is closed most of the time due to choice. The devil can make things exciting and us curious, why else would we want what he has to offer? I know I am to stay focused on this life and serving Christ and obeying his Word. I will pray for Michael’s spirit.
wow. u people are nuts. and that clip is fake
You need to take this image question from 1974 {?} down off the net. Now that Michael has passed,it’s so—-sad.
And it just makes it all sadder.
It’s too eerie. Let the King of Pop rest. O.k.?
Usually people claim to see Marilyn Monroe’s ghost.
{Sigh….}
Hear Michael one last…..

This is a morbidly delusional thread. The video is of an event that happened in 1974. Logic dictates that the image in question could not possibly be Michael Jackson who was only 16 years old and looked nothing like he did at the time of his passing.
Funnily enough I was there that night, as was Michael Jackson. Indeed I was lucky enough to have tea with him and a couple of his friends, Napolean Bonaparte and James Dean. I didn’t realise they were big fight fans, and I distinctly remember that when I pointed this out to them they laughed and laughed, and then one of them, Jimmy I think he called himself, said, “Boy, mister, you don’t know the half of it.” They then started going on about food and recipes and things, so I left. If you go to 6.05 on the video and concentrate on the top left of the screen, you can clearly see the three of them queuing up for bagels.
