Moons keep their edges "sharp". For example the animation shows gaps in the ring system that can only form because of moons, so that's not quite accurate. They might be located in resonance positions with the Moon's orbit, but I think there are just too many. Also, because of the Moon's mass and relative vicinity to Earth, I think the rings would have funny tidal waves and spiral structures. Rings don’t need shepherd moons to form.
