“A look at some of the flawed thinking that prompts people who believe in certain non-scientific concepts to advise others who don’t to be more open-minded.” [via ufofu]

As a scientist who is also very spiritual [yet atheist], I agree to a point with the video. It assumes that scientists are always willing to test every claim made. In reality, apparitions and other [at the moment] paranormal occurrences are just not funded in science and hence are not seriously examined. Therefore when I for example have seen a ghost and another scientist says that they don’t believe me, then we are both wrong. In fact I will be so bold as to say that what is paranormal today will easily explained scientifically in the future. However sometimes science is just not ready. we can explain a lot with quantum physics, including ghosts, life after death, glitches in the matrix etc. but most scientists are not willing to test these things against what we know so far. Therefore I CAN say that some scientists are closed minded because they have made up their mind that the explanation has to come from what is known only at the moment or I must be mad. That is closed mindedness from so called open minded people. Just a thought.
